The Green Bay Packers are coming off back-to-back impressive
wins following their 1-2 start. In back to back weeks they have beaten
divisional opponents the Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings by a combined
score of 80-27. This week, they travel to Miami
to take on the Dolphins. Here are some of the things we are looking at heading
into this game.
Can the defense continue its run of good play? For as much
as the Packers defense has been picked on, since the New York Jets took a 21-3
early lead against the Packers in week two, this Packers defense has given up a
grand total of 40 points. That is 40 points in three games and three quarters
of play. Not bad. Against the Vikings, we saw something from this defense we
have not seen in a long time. We saw this defense play with a mean streak, with
anger, and with rage. Can they bring that to Miami this week? We shall find out.
Will Aaron Rodgers continue to show up for work? Following
the debacle in Detroit ,
many were wondering why Aaron Rodgers didn’t show up for work in that game.
Well, he has shown up for work the last two weeks in a major way, throwing
seven touchdowns in two games and leading the Packers offense down the field
over and over again with such precision. We believe he will show up for work
this week again.
Can Eddie Lacy build on his best performance of the season?
Prior to the game against the Minnesota Vikings, Eddie Lacy had yet to rush for
50 yards in any game this season. Lacy had 50 yards by the end of the first
quarter against the Vikings and finished with over 100 yards rushing for the
first time this season.
Who will step up and do something this week at wide
receiver? Finally, a wide receiver aside from Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson
caught a touchdown pass this season. For Devonte Adams, it was the first
touchdown of his career, and his first Lambeau leap. He didn’t do much else
though, which is a continuing cause for concern. Someone else besides Nelson
and Cobb has got to step up and start making plays. At the end of the day, we
believe this is another winnable game for the Packers. Final Score: 34-17
Packers.
