Not so Jolly

Just as you thought Johnny Jolly might have chance of being reinstated by the NFL and be able to play in the 2011 season, he gets arrested again. Jolly was pulled over by a Houston Police officer for a traffic violation, but didn't have his drivers licence on him. The officer found that his licence was suspended, and proceeded to search his Escalade. They found 600 grams of codeine and arrested him. In 2008 Jolly was busted for "purple drank" which is laced with codeine, and he was suspended last season. If the charges stick I'm pretty sure he will out of the NFL for good. Just when the Packers were going to give him a chance this happens.

Madden 2012 Cover

ESPN is having a 32 man bracket to determine who is on the cover of Madden 2012. Our one and only Aaron Rodgers is a number one seed and is going against Suh from the Lions. Now it would be an honor for Rodgers to make it to the cover but as a Madden player myself, I know all to well about the "Madden Curse!" Id say since 2001 the player on the cover either gets hurt or has a bad season. Lets hope if A-Rog makes it on the cover he will not suffer the "curse."Vote at your own risk.

Sweet 16!!!|NFL rule changes

How sweet it is to have 3 Wisconsin teams make the sweet 16 for the NCAA basketball tournament. University of Wisconsin mens team, Marquette University mens team, and UWGB womens team. Ticket King Green Bay wants to congratulate all 3 of them for making it this far. All 3 teams have played some tough hard fought games to make it this far. As for the NFL they had a few new rule changes implemented during this off-season. First off kickoffs are being moved up 5 yards closer to the 50 yard line meaning teams with good return teams will be hurt by this. As a Packer fan all I can say is hahah to Devon Hester. All though i think it takes away from the game some, because kickoff returns are the most exciting plays of a game and now there will be a lot more touch-backs. Also all reviews in the end zone will be done by the booth and the coaches will not have to use a challenge on it. I like this rule so the coaches can use them on other plays during the game. Well I thought Spring was here but we are getting nailed with a whiteout blizzard and all I wanna do is be at home watching March Madness.

NFL Lockout

The players filed a request last week for an injunction that would keep the NFL and the teams from engaging in a lockout, which took effect last Friday. The hearing is scheduled to be in front of U.S. District Judge Susan Richard Nelson in Minnesota. I was really optimistic last week the players union and owner's could have made a deal, but to my surprise no dice. A lot of local Packer fans have a lot to say on this matter.  “I think it stinks,” said John Luedeman of Green Bay who was catching a beer at the Time Out Sports Bar and Grill. “The people should walk out. A lot of fans are putting the blame on the players which shouldn't be the case. Anyways on a lighter note lets just hope the NFL gets a deal done before the season starts so the Packers can defend their Championship! GO PACK GO!!!

In Mike we Trust|Josh Groban at Resch Center

Mike McCarthy finally gets a new contract that was long over due in my opinion. The deal will lock him up through the 2015 season at roughly $5 million a season. “I love Green Bay,” McCarthy said at the NFL scouting combine a week ago. “I’m going to live here (after coaching).” McCarthy's record as the Packers coach including playoffs is 53-34 which is roughly a 60% winning percentage and is 5-2 in the playoffs which is 71%, not to shabby. I'm really happy for him, he dealt with a lot with the whole Brett Favre deal, and this Super Bowl and contract are vindication. Also Ticket King Green Bay has tickets to Josh Groban at the Resch Center July 9th at 8:00pm.

NFL Lockout|AJ Hawk a Packer?

I haven't talked about the possible NFL lockout yet, because I was trying to be optimistic. At this point the CBA expires at midnight and I believe that the  NFL is going to have a lockout. How long lets hope not too long. Lets hope the mediation will help the greedy NFL. The FANS are the ones that lose out in the NFL not having a season. My opinion just meet in the middle. As of yesterday A.J. Hawk was cut by the Packers, due to the fact he was due $10 million this season. The good news sounds like they have a new contract in the works with him to come back at a much cheaper rate. Hawk became starter after Nick Barnett went down with yet another injury. This might be bad news for Barnett, the Packers have a lot of depth at the inside linebacker position. Brandon Chillar is also in the mix, so I have a feeling someone just may get cut. I'm happy Hawk is going to come back, he is a solid player and great in the community and isn't a distraction. Anyways that is my rant and rave for the day. NFL GET IT DONE!!!!!!!

Ticket King Green Bay excited for Brewers to start

Now that the NFL season is completely to an end Ticket King Green Bay can't wait for the Milwaukee Brewers season to start. We of course are Bucks fans but they are having a rough season, and the Badgers Basketball and Hockey are coming to an end soon as well. The sun is shining today and all I can think about is going to a Brew Crew game with people I love to hangout with and tailgate. I really think the crew have a shot at winning the pennant this year.
