Packers Give Few Hints Of Their True Potential During 2013 Preseason | Ticket King Green Bay

Packers Preseason 2013
After a long, and some would say uneventful, preseason the Packers are ready to get their 2013 regular season under way. No other team in the NFL looked more unspectacularly good or bad in the preseason than the Packers did. The Packers will begin week one with a trip back to San Francisco, the site of last year’s postseason debacle.

How will the offense look for a full 60 minutes? We still don’t know much about the Packers offense this season, because we haven’t seen it yet. The first team offense played very little during the preseason, and failed to score a touchdown. For some, the lack of scoring is the Packers biggest concern coming out of training camp. In what little we saw of Eddie Lacy, he looked good. I am interested in what he will look like over the course of an entire game. Jermichael Finley was probably the first team offense’s best player in training camp. I think he will have a good season. This game will also be our first look at Jordy Nelson, and our first real look at Randall Cobb as he evolves into a starter.

Have the defensive line issues really been fixed? Last season, the Packers defensive line was a big issue. This year, coming out of training camp, it appears to be a strength. Johnny Jolly’s return looks like a movie script in the making. If he really is back, and to the form he used to be, this has “Cinderella story” written all over it. Datone Jones looks good as well.

Charles Woodson Moves On

How will the secondary play without Charles Woodson? We know that the secondary played the second half of last season without the presence of Charles Woodson. They still new he was going to play again. That’s not the case this season. Woodson is gone, and he’s not coming back. Now it is time to see how the secondary plays without the man who took care of business for half a decade. We hope that the Packers come out on top, but something tells us that they will lose by seven.

Top Ten Packers Defensive Players Of The Modern Era

Packers top ten defenseive players
It’s June, and for us football writers, that means it’s time for some creativity in terms of story ideas. In other words, it’s time for lists. While some people may make lists of best of all time, I’m going to take a different approach. Since I’m only 27, I decided to make a list of the best Packers defensive players I’ve seen play with my own eyes.

10. Ryan Pickett- In his seven seasons in a Packers uniform, Ryan Pickett hasn’t been anything spectacular, but just good old reliable along a shaky Packers defensive front. Pickett has indeed been a stalwart, and even though he doesn’t come with the fanfare as the rest of the players on this list do, it doesn’t mean he doesn’t belong here, because he does.

9. Nick Barnett- When healthy, Barnett was a tackling machine in Green Bay, and one of former head coach/general manager Mike Sherman’s better decisions. Despite his lack of size, Barnett brought speed and athleticism to the middle linebacker position in Sherman’s defense.

8. Gilbert Brown- There is a fine line between being fat and being good. Brown walked that line every day of is NFL career. A castoff of the Minnesota Vikings, Brown blossomed as the cog in the middle of the Packers defense in the mid-90’s, and was one of the biggest reasons as to why the 1996 Packers defense gave up the fewest points in the NFL that season.

7. Nick Collins- If a player like Randall Cobb is fast, than Nick Collins is Flash Gordon fast. Collins could fly. Oh boy could he fly. Collins covered more ground than any other safety in recent memory. It’s a shame his NFL career ended the way it did. People don’t realize, that when Nick Collins suffered the Spinal Cord injury in week 2 of the 2011 season, Dom Capers entire defensive scheme blew up in his face, and the Packers have been scrambling to rebuild it ever since.

6. Darren Sharper- Darren Sharper had a very simple scouting report. He wasn’t a tackler, he wasn’t a range player, he was a centerfielder. Sharper was a ball hawk who played centerfield better than anyone league wide in recent memory, and he played a large portion of his career in Green Bay, which is why he is officially recognized on this list.

5. Al Harris- In 2002, Mike Sherman traded a 6th round draft choice to Philadelphia in exchange for a little known defensive back named Al Harris. Safe to say that was a 6th round draft choice well spent. Harris was the ace cover corner of the Packers for a number of years and will forever be remembered for his walk-off interception against the Seattle Seahawks in the 2004 Wildcard game.

4. Clay Matthews- Everyone scratched their heads as Ted Thompson traded back up into the back of the first round of the 2009 NFL draft to select USC’s third best linebacker. Ironically enough he used the third round draft choice he received from the Jets in the Brett Favre trade to do so. Four years later, nobody is scratching their heads anymore. Matthews is the only defensive player in NFL history to be selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his first four seasons. The Packers rewarded Matthews with a big old fat contract extension this offseason.

3. Charles Woodson- In eight seasons as the general manager of the Green Bay Packers, Ted Thompson has handed out one big name free agent contract. That was to Charles Woodson in 2006. Turns out that might be one of the most important free agent contracts handed out in league history, as Woodson went from draft bust to first ballot hall of famer in a Packers uniform.

2. Reggie White- Very few free agent signings work out. It’s even rarer that a free agent signing works out as well as this one did. White signed with the Packers, and led them on their glorious Super Bowl run in 1996. I could go on and on forever about White, but you all know the story. Before you cut my head off for not having him number one on this last, let me explain myself.

1. Leroy Butler- Charles Woodson may be headed for the Hall of Fame and Reggie White may already be there, but no Packers defensive player and I mean nobody, played in a Packers uniform for longer and played at such a high level for so long. Butler spent his entire 12-year career in a Packers uniform, and it is a crying shame he is not in the Hall Of Fame.

Packers Playoff Tickets | Green Bay Ticket King Office

Packers Playoff tickets
Our Green Bay Ticket King office is very busy right now.  Packers playoff tickets are on sale now.  With Green Bay taking the division title, they now play the waiting game.  Who will they play?  Will they get a first round bye? Will the team be at full strength when they take to the field?

The Packers may have had shaky start to the 2012 season.  At one point they were 2-3, and facing the Houston Texans as their next opponent.  Aaron Rodgers felt that Packers fans were too worried.  He backed that statement up by throwing six touchdowns, and getting the team back to .500.  From there, Green Bay proved that they can go toe to toe with just about any team, despite the fact that they lost Woodson, Nelson, Jennings, and other key players.  As we head into the playoffs, it looks like most of their injured starters will be back in time.

All Joking Aside

Greg Jennings played a practical joke on James Jones and it is pretty hilarious. All joking aside the injury to Charles Woodson's collar bone is going to affect the Packers defense. He is a team leader and can play multiple positions and not just one man can take over for him. Even though Woodsons play has diminished some he brought a lot of intangibles to the team. Let hope we get him back soon. As for the Packer's offense they look like there finally hitting their stride and are on fire. Ticket King has tickets left to this weekends game vs the Jacksonville Jaguars. GO Pack GO!!!

Nick Collins out for season

Sad news for Packer fans came yesterday when it was announced that Nick Collins will miss the remainder of the season with a neck injury. Collins was injured in the 4th quarter while trying to make a tackle on Jonathon Stewart. His neck hit Stewart's lower butt area. He must have buns of steel. That is a huge blow to the Packers secondary, Tramon Williams is still hurt but might be back this week. The Packers dealt with a ton of injuries last year and won the Super Bowl lets hope history repeats itself. Ticket King still has Packer vs. Broncos tickets available for the next home game at Lambeau Field. I also have to eat crow because Cam Newton had another big passing day, but Charles Woodson got the better of him unlike the Cardinals. GO PACK GO!!!

Green Bay Packers to White House

The Green Bay Packers denied the traditional trip to the White House for being the Super Bowl Champions, finally get their time on August 12. None will likely be more excited than cornerback Charles Woodson, who playfully chided Obama last season for not supporting the Packers in the Super Bowl after they beat Obama's Chicago Bears in the NFC title game.

5 Green Bay Packers Named to Pro Bowl

The Green Bay Packers have 5 players named to the Pro Bowl. Greg Jennings, Charles Woodson, Clay Matthews, Chad Clifton and Nick Collins are all named starters. Aaron Rodgers and Tramon Williams are first alternates. Congrats to all the Packers that got named to the Pro Bowl. Last night the Packers may have gotten a little help making the Playoffs. The Eagles lost to the Vikings giving the Bears a first round bye, therefore the Bears might not play all their starters for a full game. I think the Pack will make the Playoffs and make some noise. Go Pack GO!!!!

Green Bay Packers Season Comes To a Wild End

The Green Bay Packers season came to a end this past Sunday in Arizona. The Pack took a really tough loss in OT. The Packers dug themselves an early hole and just ran out of gas. I also believe the refs blew a ton of calls at the end of the game, but in the end the Packers self imploded. All in all it was a great season.

I also want to congratulate Charles Woodson on being named defensive player of the year. Also wanted to thank all the loyal Ticket King Green Bay customers who buy and sell Green Bay Packers tickets from us. Now we all sit and watch if Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings will make the Super Bowl or not?

Packers Clinch Playoff Berth

The Green Bay Packers clinched a wild card spot for the 2009 playoffs with a victory over the Seattle Seahawks. We here at Ticket King Green Bay are ready to sell you all the NFL Playoff tickets you need.

The Packers are one of the hottest teams going into the playoffs and could make a serious run. If the playoffs started today the Packers would face the Arizona Cardinals, which they play this Sunday during the final regular season game. If not the Cardinals the Packers could face the Eagles, Cowboys and even the Vikings, depending on how the last week of the regular season shakes out.“Our goal of winning the world championship is right in front of us,” coach Mike McCarthy said. “And that’s all you can ask for, opportunities. You have to get into the playoffs to accomplish that. We’re going to be a road-warrior mentality as we plan for that. But let’s be honest, we still have work ahead of us.”
I also want to congratulate Aaron Rodgers, Charles Woodson and Nick Collins for making the Pro Bowl.
Happy New Year!!!

MNF=Smash-Mouth Football

The Green Bay Packers , facing the Baltimore Ravens Monday night, bring in the #1 overall ranked defense in the NFL. The Packers have not ranked #1 this far into the season since 1996, when they finished #1 at the end of that season.“W’s and L’s, that’s all I’m worried about.” Barnett said. “We’ll worry about the No. 1 defense and stats and stuff after the season because you’re not No. 1 unless you end the season No. 1.” The Packer's defense has stopped the run all year and will have a tough match-up against Ray Rice and the Raven's rushing attack. The Ravens bring in a top-ranked defense of their own. Both offenses might struggle to move the ball, but I believe the Packers have a better offense than the Ravens. In my opinion, Charles Woodson is playing better than most defensive backs and should be selected the Defensive MVP in 2009. I will be taking my Dad and a friend to the Packers vs. Ravens game on Monday night at Lambeau field. I can't wait to see Ray Lewis and Ravens take it on the chin from the Pack!
